Bio
Valerie was tired of bad advice and the detrimental nature of popularized fitness. She graduated from George Mason University with a B.S. in Conflict Analysis and Resolution. Her first career was in government contracting before she transitioned to training full time. She understands what it means to be tied to a desk and the healthy habit pitfalls of the typical 9-5.
Valerie is a graduate of the National Personal Training Institute- a 600 hour certification, Precision Nutrition, as well as a registered Yoga Teacher. She has finished top 10% of her age bracket in a Spartan Race, has run countless 5ks, 10ks, a half-marathon (never again), and now competes in Powerlifting. When she is not training she enjoys her well-earned strength through adventurers in hiking, anything outside, family and friends, reading, hanging out with her dog and learning new things.
Philosophy
My philosophy is grounded in practical evidence-based training. I know what it feels like to be lost and misguided in the gym, and that’s why I became a trainer- to help people like me. Strength gave me everything I was looking for in fitness and I wish I would’ve found it earlier. Lifting weights makes me feel strong and able to show up outside of the gym in a way I didn't know I was capable of.
